Being stylish can be learned . Darlings when left alone most girls who have any flare end up with a personal style . However what do stylish women have in common ? First and foremost they wear their clothes with deliberation. Therefore everything is thought out and has a place. Contrary to popular belief , being stylish is not a superhuman trait, being stylish is being well prepared.

1 Plan Your Outfit the Night Before. In order to look pulled-together, you have to actually try. Ever notice fashion bloggers on Instagram? They always look amazing. Well guess what, they really did try to look that way. And it all starts by pulling out the outfit the night before to save you from running around in a panic the morning of. Since being stylish is our objective , being well prepared will help achieve that goal. At the same time ready your shoes if they need cleaning, your bag and your outerwear.

2 Give Yourself Time to Get Ready.Ten minutes in the morning to get ready isn’t going to cut it. It really isn’t. So take the morning to prep your outfit and fix your hair. At the same time darlings give yourself enough time to do your make-up. While your clothes may look perfect ,your grooming must match . For this reason your manicure, and when wearing sandals your pedicure should be maintained.

3 Select the Right Undergarments. Every stylish woman knows that the foundation of a great outfit/look is great underwear. Strategically plan your outfit fabric and silhouette alongside with the fabric of your bra, panty and shapewear to instill any support you may need. Darlings go to see a specialist for the purchasing of your bras. In fact when I was a costume designer I found most of the actresses I worked with were wearing the wrong size of bra.

4 Follow Other Stylish Women For Outfit Inspiration. How do you think the women you follow on Instagram and Pinterest craft their looks? They intensely study other fashion icons and women/men that inspire them. So you should do the same! Especially look to the overall style that you like about your icon . For example the minimal elegance of Audrey Hepburn , the simmering sensuality of Bardot , or the sophistication of Kate Middleton .

5 Dress For the Weather. That should go without saying. Dressing sensibly goes a long way in the style department. It really does. Always check the weather before you leave the house to avoid being that girl trucking through the snow in her flats or dodging puddles in your wide-leg flared jeans

6 Dress For the Occasion. You never want to be the one tugging at their miniskirt in a room full of more conservative looks. There’s also a time and a place a plunging neckline — but it may not necessarily be at your boss’s dinner party. Darlings remember the name of this blog and take it to heart. Moreover darlings always try to secure the dress code before you attend an event. With this in mind you can choose an appropriate look.

7 Only Wear Clothes that Fit and Flatter Your Silhouette. Despite how much you love something, if it doesn’t fit, let it go. Let it go! Since fit is one of the cardinal rules try and find a good seamstress. In addition a great seamstress is mandatory if you love vintage. Since these one of a kind treasures will almost always require alterations.

8 Elevate Your Outfit with One Piece. Ever wonder how some women make even jeans and a t-shirt look impossibly chic? While yes, it has a lot to do with the fit, they’re also elevating their outfit with one statement piece. Whether it be a great leather belt, a special pair of earrings, or a super luxe bag, adding one expensive-looking accessory creates a overall more polished look. Since adding this one piece draws the attention , a trick I love is a beautiful necklace. Hence putting the spotlight on your face.

10 Never Lounge in Your “Good” Clothes. So there’s a reason why stylish women never suffer from the crumpled look, it’s because they’re not lounging in their blazers or silk dresses on the couch. When you feel like curling up on your couch, be sure to change into your favorite leggings or sweatpants.

11 Fold and Hang Up Your Clothes. After a long day of work it can be totally tempting to just take off your clothes and throw them on the ground but remember that your blouses and trousers aren’t just going to magically unwrinkle after you’ve tossed them on the floor. So get in the habit of hanging up your clothes right after you wear them to ensure they’re ready the next time you want to wear them.

12 Know When to Wear Heels and When to Wear Flats. Let’s face it, absolutely no one looks stylish hobbling down the street in high heels they clearly can’t walk in. So with that, stock your closet with shoes that are as comfortable as they are sophisticated. And for days when you need to strut around in heels, 1) make sure they’re comfortable 2) pack a pair of flats.

13 Stay True to Your Personal Style. Just because something is stylish and trending doesn’t mean it’s going to necessarily look great on you. So with that, you shouldn’t just bow down to any trend. 14 Keep a Fashion Emergency Kit Handy. You can prep and prepare all you want, but you can’t help the fact that sometimes shit just happens. So when that does happen, keep an emergency kit that includes:
- a Tide pen
- safety pins
- Band-Aids
- double-stick tape (i.e. for blisters, a busted zipper, or snagged hemline)

15 Always Sort Clothes For Laundry and Dry Cleaning. This relates to hanging up clothes so they don’t get wrinkled, but instead, don’t just toss your clothes in the hamper and forget about them. Instead, make it a habit to sort your clothes daily. Be sure to keep an eye out for spots and stains so you can treat immediately also also keep in mind the pieces that need a trip to the dry cleaners or jeans that might need to get washed.
