Fashion 2017 was a ground breaking year . First and foremost it stands out as the year women discovered their power. First we saw a call to action with the Women's March in January. Second came the empowering voices of the #meetoo movement in fall. In fact women called out the seats of power Internationally demanding gender equality !

For this reason these emboldened movements were reflected in the fashion. Therefore fashion 2017 was shaped in ways both big and small by a tsunami of change.

FASHION 2017 ; THE PINKS OF POWER

While pink has always been a girly color, having strong feminine traits fashion 2017 saw that change. In fact the biggest symbol of the year was a pink hat. Notably this pink hat was inspired by the Trumps vulgar reference to women's private parts. Hence this hand knitted pink pussy hat married fashion to protest .

At the same time the fashion world was under control of an army of instagramers . As a result these influencers created one of the strongest fashion phrases of the year "millennium pink". 

The term does not refer to a specific shade of pink, but rather a range of tones ranging from blush to bubble gum. After Pantone named Rose Quartz the co-colour of the year in 2016, along with a gentle shade of lavender, pink took on a life of its own and was seen  in fashion 2017, school supplies, interiors, flowers, and even tech products.

Next darlings the girls voices being the loudest translated to fashion. Consequently the ruffles were bigger and braver than usual. Furthermore the designer clothing met those loud voices with the boldest colors . Finally the catwalks were bursting with empowered , standout out and be counted flowers. On the whole fashion 2017 is conspicuous for it's bold brave and empowered looks.

Generally speaking certain colors have inherent qualities ,red is such a color. Therefore how appropriate for the age of the woman to embrace bright bold powerful red. While designers put red on the runways it also became a street style for this year. Pantone names a color of the year and for 2017 it was red. Above all else red is exciting and provocative, lively and always a bit daring. Therefore red is the perfect color to summarize the great political changes of the of the year.

FASHION 2017 IN CONCLUSION

Darlings this is my last post of 2017 and what a great way to close the year. In the final analysis 2017 has been a challenging year. I am so proud of the strength of the opposition to Trumps tyranny . Especially of women around the world who have joined in on the #metoo movement. Let's hope 2018 is more hospitable.
