PINK POWER : SEE HOW TO GET INSPIRED BY THE 2019 OSCARS

AND THE 2019 OSCARS RED CARPET AWARD GOES TO…

PINK POWER

The Oscars 2019 happened last Sunday night, and I’m actually wondering whether this post will fall on deaf ears. Certainly there have been a lot of opinions on the show, from great to very bad ! In fact I liked the show which seemed to have a better pace than previous Oscar shows.

Furthermore darlings I should be an expert, I’ve watched the show since I was a little boy. In fact I kept movie-star scrap books, sketched the fabulous gowns and longed to see all the films. However back then , they didn’t make as big a deal of the red carpet. Now I watch the red carpet more than the show.

OSCARS 2019- THINK PINK

While the show was fair to good I think the red carpet was great. Whenever I watch the Oscars or other red carpets a theme always seems to arise. Therefore the Oscars 2019 was no different . Significantly the color  Pantone color of the year is living coral which is a shade of pink.

Actually most of us won’t walk the Oscars Red Carpet, however we can dream, can’t we. Certainly the Oscars are a fashion feast. However how many will have a place to wear those extraordinary dresses? Therefore it’s about the inspiration . In fact Spring is just around the corner and that means Easter, spring and summer weddings, and other social events . Moreover pink

PINK POWER

Once pink was relegated to pretty girls , babies and barbie dolls both living and toy . However in the last few years women have reclaimed this color and have imbued ,it with a new power . Whether as a symbol for breast cancer research,  a knitted pussy hat or a tee shirt against bullying pink power is here to stay.  Therefore darlings help reclaim pink in all it’s shades. This year’s Oscar red carpet outfits were pink power in just about every conceivable way: magenta, rose, fuchsia, coral, bubblegum, blush.

Therefore  let me take you on a walk down that red carpet and make that carpet pink. While you are enjoying these fabulous pink gowns, see how you too can be a vision in pink. So here are my chosen pink looks, remember shop early as many of these looks will sell out.

Here Sarah Paulson gave us pink power sophistication in a Brandon Maxwell dress with cut-out sides.

Since pink power is our subject, certainly neon pink may be the most powerful . Here Gemma Chan of “CRAZY RICH ASIANS”, looked stunning in this high-neck voluminous Valentino Couture gown.

Certainly Kacey Musgraves looked like a delectable concoction of candy floss in a  pink power Giambattista Valli couture dress.

Not surprisingly pink power had Helen Mirren swishing her multi-layered Schiaparelli dress . Certainly lovely this dress featured an ombré effect of coral and blush pinks.

Here is pink power in a subtle and yet self confident way. I love how the cotton-candy-pink hue and oversized ruffle bow added a sense of girlish lightheartedness but also has womanly strength . Here the strength comes from the powerful silhouette of this  sleek Atelier Versace column gown that was custom-made for her.

PINK POWER

Pink has indeed found a new home in the fashion world . Once a color of girly girls , pink is now a powerful statement. Furthermore pink is not only the frontier of women but men have joined in. Whether it’s a pink polo or a velvet dinner jacket designers have given men a new pink power. Lisa Bonet and Jason Momoa matched in blush pink for the Oscars.

If a hunk like Jason Momoa can wear pink , surely we all can embrace the new PINK POWER .
