RED HOT ON THE RUNWAY

Red is the most important fashion color this year. Another season is on the way and everyone is busy shopping and planning outfits . Therefore my darlings you most certainly can count on me to show you what’s up. 

NYFW has just ended, and all the editorials are written for Spring 2018. However we still have Fall and Winter to get through. While it’s  great to see the runways for next spring what should I wear to brunch? First my dears don’t worry I.m on top of all the trends, fads, and influences.

RED

Red is the most important fashion color of the year. Therefore it has been said if you want to stand out wear RED. Since colors are often rich with symbolism and meaning, red has more meaning than most. In fact in classic literature you may remember Hester Prynne the adulteress forced to wear The Scarlet Letter. While Hawthorne’s heroine is branded with the scarlet A, the meaning does not escape us A for adulteress and scarlet for sin. In the same way this color is rich with meaning in modern culture too. Therefore to us Red is the color of love, passion, the devil, rage, blood, courage , power, communism, AIDS, the Republicans , and STOP!

Red is the most important color for fall/winter 2017 shows. Therefore the mavens of Valentino will have a lot more choices this year. In my opinion red is the color of of life ! Take the power of RED and run with it.  

Description of RED on the runways from Italian Vogue;

Feminine, strong and regal. You cannot fail to notice a woman in red: it’s the color of magnificence, that seduces with all its sunset nuances.

The stunning long dresses from Giambattista Valli, Missoni, Alberta Ferretti are a case in point, while Versace and No 21 propose midi styles. See also the flirty mermaid-cut offering by Prada, and Chole’s  sweatheart neckline..

Red is teamed with other tones to highlight its power with orange, at Au jour le jour with blue at Calvin Klien, with green at Balenciaga, with fuchsia at Valentino, with pink at Blumarine

Darlings I have searched the available Red pieces for F/W 2017/18 , and found a great selection . As a result you can shop here for any of the pieces I show. In my opinion you will need a few red items to flesh out your wardrobe. Therefore choose items that can be mixed and matched . Hence a great Red blouse that could work with your favorite jeans, skirt or pants fills out your wardrobe. On the other hand consider Red outerwear , a raincoat, winter coat or jacket is a perfect way to add some Red.This fall/winter season has a great selection of dresses, go bold with all the shades of red. In addition accessories like, shoes, a handbag or scarf my be the splash of Red you need to put you on trend.

Ultimately whether you are confident enough to go head to toe Red or add a small splash of crimson Red is hot.

Darlings this Fall/Winter red is the color. While I do cover trends some of these are movements. Therefore color can be a trend ,it can also be a movement , an expression of a point of view, a political idea, or a social attitude. In my opinion in this case RED is just that , a movement of women seeking and insisting on power. This quest for power is an outcry against the misogyny, racism, and bigotry that has been unleashed on the world . So rise up my sisters fight against these attitudes and use fashion to make your point . My dears see for yourselves the psychology of color in action, and seize some power.
