STREET STYLE
Is Street Style what the fashionistas are wearing? While we were all looking towards the runways, something fabulous evolved Street style. With your ass firmly planted in the front row and your eyes intently fixed on the catwalk, the best look of the night may be sitting right beside you. Street style rules in Paris, New York, Milan, London, and Vancouver. Yes, darlings it is the attendees at a fashion show who are often the most inspiring.
In the last couple of decades, designers have started to find inspiration from the crowds that flock to their shows. Fashion is what is on the runway. Style is when it is interpreted by the people. We can all buy the latest trends, but it is how we incorporate those trends into our wardrobe and our lives that makes those clothes live.

The attendees at Vancouver Fashion Week were excited to strut their stuff. From an abundance of white footwear to mid-calf skirts and micro-minis, the crowds at VFW were on point. Whether they were captured by the photographers in the courtyard or were striking a pose between shows, plaids and blazers were hot. The clash of prints and patterns, the flashes of sequin, mounds of tulle, and brilliant pops of color were eye candy for this critic. At last, my eyes and senses encounter something other than yoga pants and cargo shorts. For four days twice a year, VFW gives locals and those visiting a chance to experience the creativity and expression of fashion lovers in one place. Feast your eyes on you, the avid supporters of VFW. Thanks to all the photographers who contributed to this post.
STREET STYLE – CONCLUSION
I hope you enjoyed this peek into the street style at Vancouver Fashion Week. In my daily life as a fashion enthusiast, I love people-watching. Seeing the fabulous street style at VFW is inspiring, knowing that others love fashion as much as I do, is encouraging. If you have friends who are pictured in this post, let them know, spread the word and support our local and international fashion community.
Thanks Yvonne Hanson for this great shot.
