VANCOUVER FASHION WEEK AND HOW I JUMPED RIGHT IN.
Vancouver Fashion Week ended on Sunday, March 24th with accolades, applause and great aplomb. I was so pleased that I had decided to not only partake but to jump right in to Vancouver Fashion Week. I hope many of you reading this post are new to Dress The Part. Since I have written a blog for the past few years this really is a new beginning for me. Therefore, those of you who are interested can take the time to read some of my old posts that still appear on this site. However, this is now a step away from the past. I hope that what you find here will keep you engaged, informed, and entertained. If nothing else darlings I have an opinion and take on everything fashion. So watch this space!
VANCOUVER FASHION WEEK-
WHO IS THAT GUY IN THE FRONT ROW?
While fashion shows are primarily about what comes done the run, they are also about who’s asses are in the seats. Those fashion lovers, fashionistas, designers, media, and the cross-section of society who love fashion are who these shows exist for. The legions of dedicated members of the fashion industry and fashion lovers of every kind came out in full support for Vancouver Fashion Week.
Since many of these VFW insiders are well known to each other and the crowd overall seems to have a lot of insiders, I am entirely new to this scene. However I jumped right in and have been both pleased and amazed by my reception. I managed to attend every night of the 7 night Vancouver Fashion Week and saw some amazing creations. Some how by arriving early and being a little pushy (who me) I managed to sit in the same seat in the front row every night. I purposely sat in the same seat, wore my signature glasses, ( I am extremely light sensitive) and tried my best to meet as many people as possible. I owe a huge thank-you to Marilyn R. Wilson , who reached out and welcomed me as well as introducing me to her many friends and contacts

J.ANDREW JACKSON- THE GUY IN THE GLASSES
Darling’s let me give you a little background to what lead me here(about me). I have been a fashion lover all my life. As a young boy I would watch my Mum sew, she made many of her own dresses. Furthermore on weekends in Victoria , we would visit my great aunt who was my first fashion icon. With flair and glamour she dressed to the nines. I still recall sitting on her bed, on a large satin comforter, while she sat at a dressing table trying on hats. My recollections are plentiful and all are recorded in my mind by what I or other people wore. To further this story, I was as a young child and later a teenager and through all my life, an avid lover of Hollywood movies.
The glamour and costumes lead me to my own career as a theatre designer , receiving a bachelors degree in both theatre and art history. Furthermore I have lived a full life, that shall be revealed through this blog in future posts. But what brought me here is my love of fashion and my desire to get involved.

There never was a closet big enough to contain my gay exuberance for life. Therefore as I launch this next stage of my amazing journey, please come along , we will laugh , love and learn together .
