Wearing White is always hot in the summer. While you may or may not feel the heat of summer yet, summer is here. The first day of summer was June the 21st and with climate change in full swing, our world is changing. Therefore, your summer season may start earlier or later or perhaps not at all.
With July 1 Canada Day and July 4th Independence Day just around the corner, wearing white is all in this summer. The runways for S/S 2020 showed an extraordinary amount of hot white outfits. Annually designers express their creativity with new and exciting ways to wear this summer staple. Valentino opened its show with several white cotton dresses, Loewe showed beautifully draped midis and Jonathan Simkhai’s white pant look is pure perfection.
WEARING WHITE
Therefore, when will we wear our white ensembles? Since, many places around the globe are successfully implementing social distancing, we will have opportunities to wear white. In fact, sometimes only white will do.
When your darling, charters a yacht around the Mediterranean, wear white. Whenever you are invited to play croquet, wear white. A summer garden party, wear white.
While white is the decree for brides and virgins, it is also a summer staple. Rules about clothes. It sounds ridiculous. But hard, fast rules have been applied to clothing choices through-out history. Moreover, some of them still make sense today.
The Rules of Wearing White
It used to be a hard-fast rule that you did not wear white before Easter or after Labor Day, In our modern world emphasis is more on individual style rather than holding tight to some rules from the past. Therefore, I recommend some rules that might not be as easily thrown out for the mere sake of individuality.
Firstly, don’t wear white to a wedding,. This is one rule I must enforce. The only person who should wear a white dress at a wedding is the main attraction, the bride. It’s fine if your outfit has white in it, but at all costs avoid head to toe white.
Wear the right panties. Nothing looks worse than black panties or a g-string paired with a white lightweight dress or trousers. This combination should be avoided at all costs.
One last rule, that I like to encourage, is careful wearing white clothes in city environments. For one who lives in a busy city and relies mainly on public transit or taxis, wearing white is courting disaster. Therefore I recommend wearing white for occasions and not for every day. Hence that’s why so many urbanites wear our slimming friend black for everyday wear.

Still, Thinking of Wearing White?
Whether you walk to the beat of a different drummer, or you adhere to the rules, the modern truth lies somewhere in between. We might not all be going off to Wimbledon or chartering a yacht on the Riviera, however wearing white is for everyone. Just take heed to my basics and you won’t go wrong.
I love nothing more than the look of a white peasant dress or white palazzo pants. You don’t have to wear all white, but there is a look there. White and beige and white and black create some of my most loved classic looks. You can match white with any colour. However, my dears I’ve gathered some of my favorite all-white looks for this summer. From Sunday brunch to poolside, white will have you stand out. I love the sophisticated look of an all-white outfit and I hope you do too.
