SPOTLIGHT ON ISABEL MARANT
Isabel Marant is my featured favorite collection this week. Darlings I hope you are enjoying this series . Since I began writing these favorite collection posts I've learnt so much. While writing these posts I have found countless websites , articles , and contacts that only make them better. Therefore if you are a fellow blogger a fashion student , a fashionista , a shopper, you belong here . Above all else darlings this blog is about building a trusted relationship ,that will serve us all well.
Strangely enough as I choose Isabel Marant for this post, I then realized I had chosen a women designer again. In my opinion this is definitely an out of the ordinary trend. In addition I did some research and found of all the labels shown at all 4 major fashion weeks, only 40% were designed by women. The Business of Fashion website has a great post on this subject. I encourage you all to read this post . In the meantime lets work together to support female fashion designers . Therefore let's look at Isabel Marant as my choice collection this week.
A BRIEF BIO OF ISABEL MARANT
However Marant has the most humble attitude to fashion. Moreover she has expressed that she truly gets a thrill when her clothes make someone happy.
THE COLLECTION
Since recording my thoughts in this blog I somestimes surprise myself. Strangely enough this is one of those times . In the first place Isabel Marant is a designer that I'm not usually drawn towards .Moreover as you may well know I am usually drawn to more elaborate and decorative designers .However on the other hand her simplicity and functionality does appeal to me . Therefore in this collection we appear to meet half way.
In fact it's as if I whispered in her ear. In this collection Marant uses frills, florals and corsetry in a more decorative way. Above all else Marants talents allow her to capture a real woman’s instinctive, everyday sense of femininity. She cut her signature silhouettes — high-wasted pants, flirty dresses and mannish jackets — with more breathing room and adult confidence. The label is inherently youthful, but the girlish, extreme minis and overt trends were minimized. Therefore creating something more womanly.
ISABEL MARANT GIVES US FEMININE STYLE
Feminine crafty, floral prints come on an easy shirtdress and a ruffled, cropped bib shirt. Moreover they are worn with pants with an ultrahigh, almost corseted waist. At the same time she drew attention to the waist throughout the collection. Similarily cinching a mannish denim jacket and pants with a white corset belt. The age-old tension of the masculine and feminine fueled much of the lineup. In my opinion it didn’t feel overly forced. There was a softness to utility jumpsuits and denim and a sturdiness to the ruffled blouses with big sleeves. A red metallic ruched and knotted minidress reminded of Marant’s flashier moments, but in a sweet, small dose. This is a fresh and inventive collection . Furthermore I was excited to see this divergance from Marant .As a result I have put together a great selection of pieces from this collection. Since many of these items are on sale, shop early girls!
