KATE, MY CONNECTION

First and foremost darlings , let me explain that I am a monarchist. As a matter of fact that means I support my head of state Queen Elizabeth the 2nd. Since I'm sure most of you are asking what does he mean . Therefore let me explain , as a Canadian our head of state is the Queen .I'm not going to give you the entire history here but here is a link for those of you who are more curious.The Crown in Canada.

While I do digress , as a child i was totally enamored by the Royal Family . I kept scrap books of the Royal's trips to  Canada. Hence this has continued through out my life . So this helps to explain my statement I'm a monarchist . Let's face it I'm a queen, and therefore I admire thee Queen. Furthermore  Kate being the furture Queen is someone to pay attention too.

KATE'S BEST MATERNITY LOOKS

Kate the Duchess of Cambridge has been has been pregnant twice before . Therefore there exists a lot of  photographs of her during these times. We love following Kate's maternity style, not only because she always looks completely polished, but also because she knows exactly what works for her. With Kensington Palace's announcement that  the Windsor's are expecting let's look back at her most stylish maternity looks from her first pregnancies with Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

KATE WHAT SHE'LL WEAR THIS TIME ROUND

Well darlings take a look at these great outfits . What makes them seem like they are all fit for a queen ? Moreover  I ask you what is it that makes them fit for royalty ? In my opinion it's style. While many may say these outfits are fashionable , what they really have in common is elegance. Therefore the Duchess has her own sense of refinement, making modern edgy designers like McQueen classics . Arguably she also is putting across an image of motherhood in a modern Royal family.

In addition these great looks will work  whether you are pregnant or not. Furthermore  some these ensembles were worn during both of Catherine's pregnancies , classic's can be worn years apart. For example the dalmatian Hobb's coat and the McQueen pink coat were worn during both pregnancies. Darling 's that's why I stress buying quality garments that can be the staples of your wardrobe for years to come. Enjoy the classic's I have chosen for you . Since Kate is often called on to wear British designers I have tried to include them here.

KATE; TIPS FOR DRESSING LIKE KATE

KATE TIP # 1  INVEST IN QUALITY

Although Kate has worn clothing from fast fashion brands like ASOS and TOPSHOP in the past, she’s recently gravitated towards British brands who carefully design clothing and only use high-quality materials in their manufacturing.  This ensures her clothes fit beautifully, wash well and stand the test of time.

KATE; TIP # 2 FIND A GREAT SEAMSTRESS

Darlings this is something I can't stress enough ! Therefore it is a must whether you want to dress like Kate Middleton or Kate Moss find a seamstress. While buying ready RTW it is always good to have a seamstress. As a matter of fact you can use a great seamstress if you like vintage or sales garments that have little size availability. In my opinion a good seamstress is that second pair of eyes ,ensuring the perfect fit. What gives our favorite Duchess her ability to shop at Top Shop or the highest boutique is  a seamstress who ensures perfect fit.

KATE; TIP # 3 CHOOSE A STYLE AND STICK TO IT

Kate’s definitely developed a signature style over the last few years . We’ve seen Kate ditch the fit -and -flare for more sophisticated looks. These days, Kate’s work uniform consists of midi length dresses, sleek shoes (gone are the are the clumpy platforms), lacy sleeves, smart skirt suits and classic coats. For casual events, Kate tends to opt for striped tops with jeans.

Two months before the birth of Charlotte Kate did not show any signs of letting her style falter as she visited The Stephen Lawrence Centre in Deptford in a hot pink Mulberry coat.

KATE LOVES A BRIGHT COAT.

The first shot above is of The Duchess Of Cambridge wearing a bright pink Mulberry coat. Hence this look is classic in all ways but the color. Therefore I have selected this gorgeous Fausto Puglisi coat . In the same this coat is double breasted has strong classic lines. and is in the same bright hue. In the same way Kate's has contrasting black buttons I fell in love with these brilliant gold buttons.

All eyes were on the expectant mother as she arrived at the annual St Patrick's Day Parade, Aldershot Barracks, Hampshire.Kate wore a brown coat by Catherine Walker, and a hat by milliner Lock & Co. Darlings this coat is so well tailored.

KATE SHOWS HOW A FITTED COAT SHOULD LOOK.

A fitted coat is a classic that all wardrobes need.What I like here is that a dark coat does not have to be black. Therefore this brown coat is stylish and classic. At the same time details like the small ruffle can individualize a classic coat. Brown wool ruffle trim coat from Roseanna is a perfect choice for this A/W season.

The Duchess achieved the Kate effect in this £35($50) maternity dress from Asos. The dress which quickly became a sell-out after she visited Brookhill Children's Centre, Woolwich.

KATE CAN WEAR FAST FASHION WITH STYLE

Since often we don't have the budget of a Duchess to buy our wardrobe , be resourceful. Kate's resourcefulness showed when she wore an altered Top Shop Dress . This dress shown here is along the line of what I would choose.Therefore remember that alterations can make a cheap and cheerful look like a million bucks.Black spot eyelet midi dress with long sleeves and wrap detail from Topshop.

The Duchess recycled yet another coat from her first pregnancy in the form of a £2,000 by Alexander McQueen. She joined William at Westminster Abbey. In my opinion this is one of her  best looks.

KATE, THIRD TIME MAYBE

This blush coat is very similar to the McQueen at a lower price. Since this coat may vary from the original or you way want to change it up have your seamstress change the buttons. Light pink virgin wool single breasted coat from Harris Wharf London.

Catherine put on an elegant display as she visited the Emma Bridgewater pottery factory in Stoke on Trent. Kate looked radiant wearing a floral print tea-dress from maternity brand Seraphine .

KATE WEARS ACTUAL MATERNITY DRESS

Since many pregnant women don't always find it necessary to wear maternity wear there are great pieces out there. Therefore darlings if you are looking for maternity wear and really don't feel like getting in the changing room follow my link to Nordstroms. The Duchess had previously relied on this Dalmatian print Hobbs coat during her pregnancy with George.Therefore style wins over fashion, and it proved to be a winner while carrying Charlotte.

KATE AGAIN CHOOSES STYLE FOR BOTH OF HER PREGNANCIES

While it is not exactly same, I choose a dress, it is pretty darn close darlings. I love this dress and find the pattern both classic and always stylish .Black wool dalmatian print dress from Roberto Cavalli.

KATE IN CONCLUSION

In my opinion style beats fashion every time . Therefore " Fashion is what you buy, style is what you do with it". While this easy to say it's not always that easy to do. Few people  have style in their twenties it may be developing but it's not there yet , A perfect example is Catherine The Duchess of Cambridge when she started her royal journey through fashion. While it took a little while. when she walked down the aisle in a custom McQueen wedding gown we witnessed not just a wedding but the birth of a personal style.
