JUNE IS LGBTQ PRIDE MONTH.
Darlings I only realized that June was here this morning. Somehow I missed the last couple of weeks of May, don’t ask where they went but presto it’s June. However I won’t mourn the loss of May , but instead celebrate the arrival of June. Since June is the month that has the beginning of Summer, It’s time to get ready for the beach , bbq’s , fairs, picnic’s and of course LGBTQ Pride.
When I was younger we called it Gay Pride , but now we have an alphabet soup of Pride. In fact I don’t blame you if you’re not up on all the letters but let’s give it our best shot . Certainly the L is for lesbian and the G is for Gay. Next the B is for bisexual and the T is for transsexual . Then we come to the Q which is for queer. Before we had no Q, but now it’s about reclaiming a negative word . Whatever we call it it’s Pride month.
LGBTQ PRIDE BUT ….
I woke this morning and turned on the T.V. like I do most mornings to catch the news and guess what? President Trump has once again refused to issue a proclamation honoring June as LGBTQ Pride Month. This week the president signed proclomations honoring June 2018 as Great Outdoors Month, National Caribbean-American Heritage Month, African-American Music Appreciation Month, National Ocean Month, and National Homeownership Month .Conspicuously absent is a proclamation honoring LGBTQ Pride month. President Barack Obama , for all eight years of his time in the White House issued proclamations strongly supporting the LGBTQ community.
Hence like every other minority our rights , privileges and safety are in peril. Therefore my dears it’s time to rise above it and those who wish others ill-will . Whether you live in New York City or New Haven it’s time to call up all your LGBTQ friends and find out what’s happening.
Darlings here’s a link to my partners site that lists all the Pride events Worldwide. I’m not asking for the moon and the stars just get together with your LGBTQ friends and attend some of the events in your city. The best revenge is a life well lived. Although Pride has developed into Parades and Parties , it wasn’t always that way. While today we have certain rights it has been a long hard battle. Therefore let’s insist we don’t loose ground !
LGBTQ PRIDE – SHOW THE WORLD YOU CARE
Most cities not only have a parade but many other events . Including dance parties, charity events , art shows , fashion shows, and much more. In addition you could host a Pride Parade brunch (like I did last year) it can be so much fun!
Pride Cocktail Rainbow Sangrigio

In a pitcher (or in the wine bottle), combine wine, sugar/honey, lime juice, and stir until combined.
Add fruit to your serving glasses or (separate) pitcher in your desired color order. Then pour the wine over the fruit until the fruit is covered. Refrigerate the drinks for 15 minutes to let the flavors meld.
Top with a splash of brandy and club soda if desired.
LGBTQ PRIDE + DRESS THE PART
Since it’s pride I would suggest that you could indulge the celebrations with some pride attire. Of course I don’t mean you need to go full Ru Paul crazy . What I do mean is that you can express your support with the occasional rainbow , or some disco apparel . Now if you’re going out dancing . to a play , or concert have fun and dress up , Celebrations are what life is made of . I ‘ve chosen some of the best clothes for all your Pride Celebrations.

LGBTQ PRIDE – IN CONCLUSION
Please take the time out of your busy lives to support your local LGBTQ PRIDE events. In fact I hope you do a bit more and participate. Furthermore dears look for the great family friendly events , often a picnic or something of that sort that your kids will enjoy. Since many of you are members of the fashion world you probably have many gay friends , it’s fun to get together.
However with the threat to human rights across the board you can lend support in the most subtle ways. Maybe you wear a rainbow article of clothing, a political pin, or something else that makes a positive statement.
Moreover I hope you love the pieces I have chosen . Notably there are items for every price range and a huge variety of pieces . Therefore get your outfits together and get out and celebrate . HAPPY LGBTQ PRIDE !
Ciao for now Jandrew
