Darlings it is with great disappointment that I have to tell you a sequel to the box-office smash “Crazy Rich Asians” looks it will not hit theaters until possibly 2021. However the great influence of “Crazy Rich Asians” style is alive and well. Therefore, lets look at how to create the Crazy Rich Asians style ,that is the hottest luxury fashion movement .

Certainly, the style of “Crazy Rich Asians” put luxury fashion upfront. “Crazy Rich Asians” is a romantic comedy that was released in 2018, based on a novel by the same name. This movie became popular because of the fact that it was the first Hollywood feature film to feature a large cast of Asian-American leads in quite some time. However , for me the biggest impact of the film was the Crazy Rich Asians style. Certainly my first post on “Crazy Rich Asians” has a huge following.on this blog. Therefore lets update that post with a look at the Crazy Rich Asians style for 2020.

The word “rich” in the title is definitely not an exaggeration. The characters in this movie have serious money and they’re not afraid to flaunt it with the clothes they wear. However my dears let me cater to all of you followers. While, I am well aware that I have a lot of luxury shoppers among you , I also know that many of you are looking at creating those same looks but on a budget. Make sure to make your purchases early because usually these items will sell out fast!

Astrid’s Dior Shopping Dress

Actress Gemma Chan played the role of Astrid Leong one of the socialites in Crazy Rich Asians. Certainly Astrid Leong is known for her beauty and style. In the shot above Astrid is going on a shopping trip. Astrid’s clothes are sophisticated and simple, but far from boring. I think that what is the key to Astrid’s amazing look is the clean lines and subtle colour . Astrid wore a simple, baby pink dress from Dior and paired it with a classic Lady Dior bag and pair of Dior sunglasses. In fact this look is a classic look and will take you from season to season. The following looks will give you what I call that classic Grace Kelly style with a Crazy Rich Asians Style flare !!

Rachel’s Little Red Dress

The first thing to note is that our heroine Rachel is not crazy rich , however her red dress was both rich in colour and style. The details of the red dress were the straps on the back. When going for a bright colour like red sometimes less details are more. Certainly, I’m not one for minimalism, but this red dress worked for the character and can certainly work for others. One of my styling tips for wearing a bright colour is go for a simple clean silhouette , you can always add more details with accessories. I have chosen three red dresses that are youthful and simple. Red is a hot colour for this Spring and always a fun colour to wear.

A fabulous scene in the film is where Rachel is given a makeover, one of the looks is a Michael Kors dress. While the sparkly sequined dress didn’t make the cut for Rachel’s wedding look it is a real show stopper. Darling’s, sequins and sparkles have taken on a new life. Once a curse for daytime, glittery garments are no longer reserved for a New Years bash or a disco themed party. Designers are showing sequins everywhere for Spring 2020. Therefore my dears throw out the ideas that glitz is only for certain occasions and seasons.
