THE RAINBOW FLAG
LGBT PRIDE
Well me darlings June is Pride month in the US .However this was not declared by the current US administration. Since I follow politics I’m not at all surprised. While we may take it for granted that flying rainbow colors represent the progress LGBT communities have made, it was not always that way. Arguably the battle for gay rights has just begun, as many states seem to be backtracking, and in many coutries they don’t exist .Since I refuse to listen to any debate that does not support complete human rights, there is still a great need for Pride events to promote LGBT rights. At this point it is notable that Pride events are held at different times throughout the world and the US not just in June, the LGBT Flag is the most powerful image for LGBT rights around the globe. Celebrate all your LGBT family ,friends ,neighbours and citizens by donning the rainbow colors.
ABOUT THE RAINBOW FLAG
The rainbow flag, commonly the gay pride flag and sometimes the LGBT pride flag, is a symbol of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) pride and LGBT social movements.
Therefore the colors reflect the diversity of the LGBT community. Aboe all the flag is often used as a symbol of gay pride in LGBT rights marches. It originated in Northern California, but is now used worldwide.
Designed by San Francisco artist Gilbert Baker in 1978, the design has undergone several revisions. first and foremost to remove then re-add colors due to widely available fabrics. Therefore as of 2008, the most common variant consists of six stripes, with the colors red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet. The flag is commonly flown horizontally, with the red stripe on top, as it would be in a natural rainbow.
THE RAINBOW COLORS
red: life
orange: healing
yellow: sunlight
green: nature
blue: serenity/harmony
violet: spirit
RAINBOW COLORS IN YOU WARDROBE
“Celebrate good times come on, It’s a Celebration.” My darlings above all else Pride is a celebration. In fact in most cities Pride is one, if not the best party of the year. In my opinion what makes Pride so great is that it is such an inclusive event. Similarily being a part of these events is great fun , excellent branding opportunities, and offer the chance to build and cement relationships both personal and business .
At this point it always comes to mind where am I going and what do I wear ? The range of events in most large cities are countless . Therefore lets have some fun putting together some great outfits that will get you through Pride with rainbow colors .
THE PRIDE GALA PARTY
This is usually a large party often for all the movers and shakers in the community. Since we all love parties this is a great event. By the same token this event is usually held at large night club and caters to every age . You’ll have to be ready to dance the night away. As a fashionista you’ll want to be a style maven.
THE BUSINESS and CHARITY EVENTS
In the same way parties are fun and can be great opportunities to meet people , Pride includes other events. Therefore here in North America banks, large businesses and governments host and attend Pride events. Since you are attending a work or other event, particpate by wearing rainbow colors . Since the AIDS epidemic the gay community has been first and foremost in supporting AIDS and other charities get involved. Show your rainbow colors.
WEAR RAINBOW COLORS FOR PRIDE PARADE AND FESTIVAL
The major event in most cities for Pride is the parade and festival. Therefore this is the time to have some fun with your dressnig. Pride for me and friends includes mayebe having a brunch and watching the parade. At this time the agenda includes visiting a variety ofvenues for drinks and this may last well into the evening.
CELEBRATE WITH PRIDE
This weekend marks the begining of Pride in Toronto the largest Pride event in North America. In recent years the LGBT community has made amazing strides . For this reason it makes it even more important that we still keep moving forward. Join your gay family and friends , make new friends and have fun . I had alot of fun putting this post together . I hope you learn a little something , shop a little leave me a comment . HAPPY PRIDE , Ciao for now Jandrew
