LILAC FOR SPRING 2018

Lilac is the color for Spring Fashion 2018. Whenever I catch that waft of lilac in the air it brings back memories.  In fact it takes me back to this huge  bush that grew behind my childhood home. While lilac is a color .it is also a flowering bush that produces the most amazing blooms and intoxicating scent . Since the  aroma is  so memorable it is often used in fragrances .

In fashion this shade can also be referred to as lavender , light purple or mauve. Furthermore it can be a hue of violet , but I think of violet as a brighter color. With this in mind I came across several debates online about the difference between lilac and lavender. Surely people have too much time on their hands . Henceforth these two shades shall be known here as one !

ULTRA VIOLET; HAS SHADES LIKE LILAC , MAUVE AND LAVENDER,

“Complex and contemplative, Ultra Violet suggests the mysteries of the cosmos.The intrigue of what lies ahead, and the discoveries beyond where we are now,” they add. “The vast and limitless night sky is symbolic of what is possible and continues to inspire the desire to pursue a world beyond our own.”

In other words the new color trend is mysterious. While I have studied color theory at University, I still rely predominantly on instinct .

However when a new color is named  it often includes it’s many  shades and hues . Therefore darlings whatever you call it falls under the category of Ultra Violet .

LILAC ON THE RUNWAY

At the present time millennial pink might not be dead , but it appears to be on life support.  Spring is in the air and the air is heavy with the scent of lilac and lavender . In fact lilac is the color for Spring/Summer 2018 and the runways show it.   Moreover ,from Michael Kors in New York ,to  Victoria Beckham in London to Alberta Ferretti in Milan lilac was there.

Similarly the  wave has washed over a huge amount of the fashion brands .Hence I have selected to show some of the fabulous lilac creations for Spring and Summer.

Now that we’ve seen the lovely pieces from the runway it’s time to shop . Darlings with lilac in mind I’ve searched my partners to find some fabulous dresses from the highest end designers . LILAC FOR SPRING & SUMMER

Ultimately the Spring season is about rebirth and beauty. Therefore it’s only natural to be attracted to the gorgeous colors of Spring.  Consequently we gladly follow the colors prescribed to us by trend forecasters and designers. However this season a most usual color was chosen a color that has hardly ever been in the forefront . Certainly women have worn it but it was as though it had been reserved for elderly women and perhaps girls . This season was truly awakened by the bright Easter color palette and lilac was the star.
